Today marks Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh's final official public engagement as he retires, aged 96.

It was with the Captain General's parade of the Royal Marines.

He inspected his marines wearing only a bowler hat and a long anorak to keep him dry as rain set in.

The 96-year-old has been their captain since 1953.
