If you haven't travelled to Matamata yet to see the Hobbiton set of the Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit, it's a must. In fact the success of the movies being filmed in New Zealand is leading to a Hobbit-related tourism spike, with tourist spending in the region tripling in the past five years to $37 million.
