Leading tennis players have slammed a BBC-Buzz Feed report alleging historical match-fixing by senior players.

The joint investigation claims current and past top-50 players, including several at this month's Australian Open, are suspected match-fixers.

Speaking after his first round win in Melbourne, Roger Federer said the allegations need to be more specific.

He said there needs to be names and then at least its concrete stuff and you can debate about it.

Novak Djokovic has confirmed that he was once indirectly offered more than $200,000 to throw a match.

After winning through to the second round of the Australian Open, the world number one fielded numerous questions about allegations relating to match fixing in tennis.

Djokovic revealed in 2007 his team was approached with an offer to throw his first round match at the St Petersburg Open in Russia.

He said the situation amounted to nothing and he hasn't heard of match fixing in the past seven years.
