It's been a big year for Wellington mayor Tory Whanau.
Rates are up 16%, her plan to revitalise Wellington's CBD by redeveloping the Reading Cinema complex failed, the council voted for her plan to sell the council's stake in Wellington Airport before spectacularly backtracking, and the council's final long-term plan still isn't across the line.
To top it off, Local Government Minister Simeon Brown appointed a Crown Observer after his concerns over the council's decision-making became too great.
But through all of this, Whanau has spearheaded an ambitious cycleway rollout, and the Golden Mile project has miraculously survived a change of government and significant budget constraints.
So how would Whanau rate her and her council's performance over 2024? And can she answer the question on the minds of many Wellingtonians - will she run for a second term?
Wellington Mayor Tory Whanau joins Nick Mills from 10am.
