An iconic Wellington church sitting atop Oriental Bay is set to be redeveloped into a hotel.
St Gerard's church and monastery was built in 1908 and had to close last year due to earthquake concerns.
Now, the church will undergo millions of dollars worth of repairs by businessman Richard Burrell to change it into hotel accommodation.
However Nick Mills thinks it should be converted into a casino.Â
He pitches his idea to Wellington City councillor for the Lambton Ward Nicola Young.
