On Wellington Morning's Amalgamation special, former Wellington Mayor Dame Fran Wilde talks what went wrong a 2015 bid she backed for councils in the region to be merged into a Super City, like Auckland.  

"I think the local politicians didn't want to give up their roles, to be blunt, and campaigned against it," Wilde said.  

Dame Fran told Nick Mills she still backs the idea.
