Wellington runner James Preston last week broke the late Sir Peter Snell's 62-year-old national 800m record, winning a meet in Germany with a time of 1:44.04s.Â
This was enough for Preston, 27, to secure qualification for a maiden Olympic games at Paris later this year.Â
