Exiting midfielder Chloe Knott has lambasted the Wellington Phoenix after negotiating a release from the remainder of her A-League football contract.
In a statement, the club said the challenge of working a full-time job alongside life as a part-time player made the financial strain on her untenable.
However, in a social media post, Knott says that's not the only reason she's leaving.
She says her values no longer aligned with the club or management and wants to work in an environment where employees feel valued and respected.
Newstalk ZB and NZ Herald sports journalist Bonnie Jansen joined Adam Cooper to discuss the situation.
