Martin Devlin: What to expect from Crusaders vs Blues clash

What we've learned in the last week about Rrrrrugby.

No-one will miss SANZAAR. No-one even knows who is SANZAAR,  where they operate out of, who is in charge OR what they do.

And no-one ever has. So if this imaginary organisation does get the guillotine next year it's highly unlikely there won't be a single person that even notices.

The Chiefs night have started 0 and 4 but not a single call has been or will be made for coach Gatland's head. Now swap his name for Stephen Kearney's and Chiefs for Warriors and now ask yourself if all is fair in love and league?

This Crusaders/Blues is very nearly the single biggest game of the  sport that the world will witness so far this year. Before we bestow it  that level of hype though let's not forget there was one or two 6-Nations matches played before the lockdown which were (also) reasonably important.

Last time the Crusaders lost to a NZ team at the Cowshed/Carpark stadium was almost 3 years to the day ago when the Hurricanes won 35-10. Scott Robertson as coach has never experienced a home defeat vs any NZ side, while the last time the Blues beat the Crusaders in Christchurch was back in 2004 when Carlos Spencer pulled out his last-minute trickery before acknowledging the crowd's generous applause with his own friendly wave.

Dan Carter is NOT starting anytime soon, if he ever does, for the Blues. But we'll all still be speculating about if and when from now 'til the comp does end.

And finally, this big game tomorrow night isn't the official North/South match but it sure is one helluva entree. Nor will it decide the comp but it might decide who'll have the final say, but will definitely confirm who the favourite is.
