Comedian and Snap Chat Dude Tom Sainsbury is heading back into politics.

Sainsbury is best known for his SnapChat sketches, but he has become more involved in politics lately. Last year, he ran for the Auckland mayoralty as his alter ego Fiona, with Sainsbury acting as her campaign manager.

He’s also a master of impersonations – most famously as MPs Paula Bennett and Simon Bridges. 

But Saiinsbury's latest project ‘Sextortion’ sees him back in the political fold, starring as conservative Christian politician Darren Bellows who finds himself in an unfortunate scandal.

Sainsbury joined Francesca Rudkin to discuss his inspiration, researching BDSM, impersonations, and how Paula Bennett told him she was resigning before she told Todd Muller.
