Plastic in our oceans is a huge problem, but one woman has come up with a solution to help in some of the more remote areas.
The Plastic Collective CEO Louise Hardman and her team have developed a plastic shredder known as a 'shruder', which could become a game changer in the Pacific.
Pilot programmes have seen the device head to islands near Bali and Borneo, and the latest version of the shruder shreds plastic at up to 60 kilograms of plastic an hour, with hopes to cut soft and hard plastic.Â
The Australian Government has backed the idea with a $2.5 million grant. CEO Louise Hardman joined Andrew Dickens to discuss how the machine works and what they are hoping to achieve.
