You may not have noticed it but adults often mimic a baby when they are interacting with them.

While it may seem silly to the rest of us adults, by the age of 6 months babies are able to identify that an adult is mimicking them and it and it leads to them trusting the adult more.

Six-month old infants recognise when adults imitate them, and perceive imitators as more friendly, according to a new study from Lund University in Sweden.

So the next time you want a baby to like you it might pay to copy them for a while.

Dr Michelle Dickinson told Andrew Dickens according to the study, it is the best way to bond with a baby... even to stop them from crying.
