National MP Judith Collins has dismissed Winston Peters as all "piss and wind" and says she has her sights locked on Megan Woods.
Speaking with The Country's Jamie Mackay, Collins took aim at various sectors of the Government as she was quizzed on KiwiBuild, climate change and genetic engineering.Â
Asked whether she had her sights set on any other Government ministers now that the Phil Twyford had been removed from KiwiBuild, Collins said that she will be keeping an eye on Woods, who now has responsibility for it.Â
"She seems to be someone I think who doesn't listen a lot," Collins said, citing Woods' cancellation of the oil and gas exploration. "She's someone who I think needs a bit of a tickle."Â
Collins also criticised the move to introduce farmers into the Emissions Trading Scheme, arguing that New Zealand's emissions are minor compared to bigger countries and they should be the focus.
"The Greens and Labour and NZ First have been happy to throw New Zealand farmers under the bus."Â
Challenged by Mackay that Peters is meant to be a champion for the farmers, Collins laughed off the suggestion.
"My father used to say 'he's all piss and wind', and that's pretty much it."Â
Collins did have nicer words for Gareth Hughes and James Shaw, saying that they "aren't unpleasant people". She said that our country should embrace genetic modification of food and move forwards with progress.
"I personally don't want to live in an economy where things are self sufficient and you grow your own vegetables and you can't go anywhere cause you don't have any electricity. We live in the modern world, let's embrace it."Â
