Jane Wrigglesworth: Gardening
Natural remedies for better sleep.
Without optimal sleep, we cannot be our best physically or mentally. If you’re having trouble winding down at the end of the day, try one of these herbs.
Â
Valerian – Be careful, as it has the opposite effect on some people. Typically, if you have a hot constitution (you’re always in t-shirts when the rest of us are wearing sweaters), you might not be able to take valerian.
Â
Herbs in the mint family – plants in the mint family, including lavender, lemon balm, catnip, holy basil, sweet marjoram and skullcap are well known for their sedative properties.
Â
Hops – use the female hops.
Â
Chamomile – very calming, particularly when stressed. If growing your own, you must pick when the flowers are about to open, or have just opened, otherwise they will taste bitter. Dry the flowers before using.
Â
Lavender – inhale the scent. You need to inhale it for at least 20 minutes for it to have any effect.

Andrew Dickens: Music
Harry Styles (Self-titled) - Andrew's verdict: 7/10
Avoiding the stock standard RnB approach that Zayn Malik and Justin Bieber go for, this is an album where Harry says he's a serious artist. Unfortunately a lot of the lyrics are laughable, but he is fishing his way towards a sound that’s part Beck, Robbie Williams and old school 70s British blues rock. Not a bad listen but still needs work.Â
