Fruit crumbles are one of the easiest things to whip up for a quick dessert and the perfect accompaniment is surely ice cream, scooped on top of the crumble straight from the oven so it melts into it. Bliss!
Serves 1-2
1–2 cups chopped fruit, e.g. apple (no need to peel), tamarillo, or berries
- 1 tablespoon jam, any will do
- 1 heaped tablespoon each rolled oats, brown sugar, flour, sugar, butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a small saucepan, heat chopped fruit with jam and a splash of water.
In a small bowl, rub together the rolled oats, flour, sugar and butter until the mixture resembles rustic crumbs.
Add the vanilla extract to the warmed fruit and transfer to an ovenproof dish.
Top the fruit with the crumble and bake for 15–20 minutes.
Always have with ice cream!
