A Scottish tourist has called a bluff, after pointing out the famous signpost in Bluff is all wrong.
Work to change the famous signpost is now underway.
The tourist also noticed the signs for Cape Reinga and Wellington were pointing in different directions.
The Invercargill City Council's brought in an expert, and they discovered that not only were the directions wrong - but the distances as well.
Shadbolt assured the post will be changed - by whom, he doesn't know.
"Well it'll be the ministry of signposts I suppose, I don't know, we'll have to go through the correct authorities."
Mayor Tim Shadbolt told Mike Hosking it's the town's biggest tourist attraction.
"I think it's something like 87,000 people go to that signpost every year.
But he said he doesn't think people take it's directions too seriously.
