Flick Electric is pressing pause on taking on new customers over the state of the country's power market.
The independent retailer will continue to supply its existing 27-thousand power customers.
Chief executive Steve O'Connor told Mike Yardley they're being forced to stop growing because power is too expensive to buy in a wholesale market.
“This is about the electricity market in New Zealand and the fact that it’s not a level playing field, we’re calling on the Government to take action.”
