Bank workers say failed promises to them are increasingly putting bank customers under pressure.
A survey by First Union has found 87 percent of respondents felt pressure to sell financial products.
And 92 percent feel the pressure hasn't lessened, and may even have increased, despite promises of change from bosses..
First Union's financial arm spokesman, Stephen Parry, told Mike Hosking the pressure put on workers is in turn passed on to consumers.
"What the workers tell us all the time is that they feel a great deal of stress having to meet these targets which are very high for the most people. They feel comprised having to push products at customers they don't necessary want or need."
Stephen Parry says customers should be able to walk into a bank and not expect a hard sell.
