Scott Dixon's relishing the prospect of another Kiwi on the IndyCar circuit.
Dixon clinched a sixth championship title in the season-finale in Florida with compatriot Scott McLaughlin racing the class for the first time.
The three-time Supercars champion crashed out on the the 47th lap while sitting 17th.
Dixon told Mike Hosking McLaughlin did well under the circumstances.
"It was a tough order for him to come into the last race when everybody is already up to speed, especially with the restricted time on track."
Dixon says it's great to have another Kiwi to race with.
"McLaughlin did a fantastic job in practise. Once he gets some time, he will be a beast and huge talent."
