An alert level change may be out of the question in Auckland.
Cabinet will meet today to reassess alert levels for our largest city, and the rest of the country.
But the Delta outbreak appears to be some way from over with a further 20 cases being reported yesterday, and 34 cases yet to be linked to any sub-clusters.
Auckland University epidemiologist Rod Jackson told Mike Hosking changing alert levels on Wednesday would be extremely risky.
“It’s like a forest fire. It’s like we’re in Australia in fire season and you leave these little fires undealt with, they just get away from you with Delta.”
