The situation has become so bad in Afghanistan, and particularly at the Kabul airport, that our guarantees are off the table when it comes to evacuating people.   

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs now say that "we cannot assist all those we are seeking to evacuate" and that "our ability to provide direct assistance will be increasingly limited" as we go forward into Stage Two, whatever that involves.  

Former Afghan interpreter for the NZ Defence Force and spokesperson for the Afghan Veterans Interpreters Association Raza Khadim joined Mike Hosking.
