Jacinda Ardern faced questions about her sex life in a bizarre interview on Australian TV.
The Prime Minister and partner Clarke Gayford were interviewed at home for the Australian version of 60 Minutes.
Reporter Charles Wooley swooned over Ardern's appearance.
"I've met a lot of Prime Ministers in my time, but none so young, not too many so smart, and never one so attractive."
Wooley then went on to to ask the couple about when the couple conceived their child.
"One really important political question that I want to ask you, and that is, what exactly is the date that the baby's due?" he said.
When Ardern told him it was due on June 17, Wooley said: "it's interesting how much people have been counting back to the conception date".
Ardern failed to hide an initial reaction of shock, before laughing off the comment.
When Wooley pushed for a response, Ardern said the baby was conceived when the election was over "not that we need to get into those details".
Australian correspondent Murray Old says told Mike Hosking it was bizarre.
"I've read some reviews this morning, they just loved it. 'Charles didn't have to talk as though there was something up his bottom'."
He expected it would have done well for Channel 9, who broadcasted the interview.Â
"It wouldn't surprise me to see 60 Minutes doing okay last night on the back of that story. She is attractive, she is smart, she's terrific on television and she's having a baby and she's very, very popular."
However, many viewers flocked to Twitter to share their outrage at the questions.
