A terminally ill Otago father is calling for an end to disparities in cancer care.
After finding he had advanced bowel cancer, 39-year-old Blair Vining was told he would have to wait eight weeks for a first medical appointment.
His petition calling for better care for all Kiwis has 130-thousand signatures.
Blair's wife Melissa told Mike Hosking Aucklanders are seen within two weeks by specialists, whereas all others have to wait up to eight weeks.
She says another issue is some people not being able to afford drugs that would keep them alive longer.
