A new Uber service is being criticised by a transport advocate.
The rideshare company is starting a service encouraging people to share their car with others while commuting.
The driver would earn 71 cents for every kilometre travelled.
But Greater Auckland spokesperson advocate Matt Lowrie told Mike Hosking the service might be a hard sell.
He says many wouldn't be comfortable sharing their car with a stranger.
