The booming housing market hasn't only benefited homeowners.
It's estimated real estate agents have earned $2 billion in commission over the past two years.
The rising sales have seen a new rush of people signing up to become real estate agents.
Harcourts Cooper & Co Managing Director Martin Cooper told Mike Yardley the market performed better than expected after the lockdowns.
“I’ve had my real estate company for 30 years trading, and actually last year was the best year performance-wise.”
It's even estimated some agents are pocketing up to $1 million dollars a year.
Cooper says that would be accurate for some.
“The good agents that have got into the business and found that they know it, they learn it, they have a good database, they’ve certainly been doing extremely well.”
