The AA says we're a bit powerless when it comes to rising fuel prices.
Petrol has shot up to nearly $2.30 a litre in some parts of the country, including Dunedin and Rangiora.

The Road Transport Association thinks it could reach $3 a litre within six months.
AA spokesman Mark Stockdale told Larry Williams to a certain extent, there's not a lot we can do.
"The increases in prices we have seen they're due to the usual factors, rising commodity rates, falling exchange rate, these things are out of our control, they are put of the government's control."
Mark Stockdale says they're also outside the fuel companies' control.
