A Law Association leader says the cuts being asked of the Justice Ministry will put more pressure on the system. Â
Chief Justice Dame Helen Winkelmann has released her latest briefing to Attorney-General Judith Collins. Â
It includes the need to raise the cap on the number of senior court judges and under-funding resulting in mouldy and leaky courtrooms. Â
It also mentions the district court backlog and legal aid problems.  Â
Association vice-president Julie-Anne Kincade told Mike Hosking that lifting the cap would help.Â
She says they also need courtrooms and people to staff them, so there has to be change across the board.Â
