There’s growing concern traditional one-hour lunch breaks are being eaten up.Â
Researchers in the UK have surveyed 1500 people and found the average worker’s midday break has been shortened to 29 minutes.Â
During that time a third also continued to check and respond to work-related messages.Â
AUT Human Resource Expert Jarrod Haar told Mike Hosking the stats are interesting.
He says they show a potential future where lunch breaks could disappear before people realise.
