Robots could be the answer to seasonal worker shortages.
Jenkins Freshpac Systems has released technology this morning, which could see two human workers replaced for every unit installed.
The apple packer identifies and places the apples in their trays, and has the ability to safely handle up to 120 fruit per minute.
General manager Jamie Lunam told Mike Hosking the labour shortage problem isn't going to go away.
"This isn't a blip, this isn't a coincidence and the crops are being planted with great ferocity, a million odd apple trees were planted last year."
