The Prime Minister's confident she's dealt with her Transport Minister in the most appropriate way, after he breached Civil Aviation rules.
Phil Twyford's been stripped of his Civil Aviation responsibilities, over a phone call he made while on a domestic flight, after the doors had closed prior to take-off.
He offered his resignation for the blunder, but Jacinda Ardern instead relieved him of his Civil Aviation responsibilities, rather than accept his resignation.
"You cannot have a minister flouting the rules in which they are presiding over which is why I removed his responsibility for that area."
She says that's the best approach for the situation.
"There is no doubt there that, that is a breach of the rules and it is the CAA then to determine how they would choose to deal with it from their perspective."
