Discussions will take place tonight on whether the Greens will boot out MPs Kennedy Graham and David Clendon.
The long-standing MPs want to quit the party in protest at Metiria Turei's benefit fraud admissions.
Co-leader James Shaw told Mike Hosking he's putting a motion to caucus this morning to suspend the men, and potentially boot them out entirely.
"I respect both David and Kennedy and their right to hold that opinion. What really annoyed be yesterday was the way that they went about expressing it."
Shaw said the party doesn't need this seven weeks out from the election.
"I shouldn't really be having to deal with this, I should be out on the campaign trail talking to people about climate change, clean rivers and ending poverty."
He said political parties throughout history have survived worse times than this.
