Grant Robertson says it's too early to talk about the chances of moving to the traffic light system before the country has reached its vaccination targets. 

The system is set to be rolled out once 90-percent of the eligible population in each DHB has received both Covid jabs. 

Auckland could move to the system earlier, once all three of its DHBs have reached the 90-percent target. 

The Deputy Prime Minister told Mike Hosking while the targets will be reviewed in five weeks, the target is a target for a reason. 

He says the 90-percent targets are achievable. 

“We can do it. I’m confident we’ll get there.”
