There are serious concerns over the growing number of fights at schoolboy rugby matches, following a brawl involving fifty people during an under-15s rugby match in Feilding on Monday.
The brawl was reportedly sparked when a bad tackle saw punches thrown by players and spectators run in from the sidelines.
Secondary School Sports Council director, Garry Carnachan told Mike Hosking the matter is still being investigated.
"The good thing about it is there are a number of agencies involved, with the school, the police, the rugby union, they'll be taking it seriously and will get to the bottom of it," he said.
