Lowering the Official Cash Rate might be the best move for New Zealand.
Economists predict the Reserve Bank is likely to take the OCR into negative territory around April next year.
Former Reserve Bank governor Don Brash told Mike Hosking he's in favour of lowering the OCR.
He says it seemed to work out for the other countries that've tried it.
"The European Union, Japan, Denmark, Switzerland, and Sweden have taken their cash rate below zero - and they think it's benefited their economies."
