There's no need for parents to panic - students aren't about to switch over to full-time learning from home.
The latest Census At School Survey has found seven out of 10 students enjoyed working from home over lockdown just as much if not more than going to school.
The number was slightly lower for older students, working on their NCEA qualifications.
Secondary Schools Principals' Association President Deidre Shea told Mike Hosking it's great that students are adaptable, but learning at home won't be the norm anytime soon.
"When we came back to school after each lockdown period, the delight from everybody - students and staff - at seeing each other again, you can't beat the one-on-one, the face-to-face learning."
