The Nigel Murray unauthorised spending fiasco is being described as a major distraction for the Waikato District Health Board.
Chairman Bob Simcock is the latest casualty, resigning yesterday with immediate effect.
Nigel Murray spent $218,000 of taxpayer money in his three years heading the district health board.
Another former CEO Craig Climo told Mike Hosking the whole saga will have diverted attention from other DHB matters.
"The biggest issue for me is the distraction. This will have been a major distraction for everybody involved, from the board through management and staff, and also all the other organisations.
"They've probably missed an opportunity to get on and improve processes, obviously there has been damage to relationships."
