Calls for Jacinda Ardern to put the shoe on the other foot, and imagine Trevor Mallard's behaviour was that of a National Party Speaker.
The Opposition will today attempt a motion of no confidence in Mallard - after he cost the taxpayer more than $330,000 over his false 'rape' claim.
It's expected to be shut down by Labour - which has the outright majority.
Shadow Leader of the House Chris Bishop's asking whether Ardern would still back Mallard, if he wasn't from her own party.
“I suspect the answer is probably no - and what's good for the goose, is good for the gander, and she should lose confidence in Trevor Mallard.”
Bishop says Mallard shouldn't have the backing of his fellow MPs.
“He has let Parliament down and must resign... or the House needs to express no confidence in him."
The move's expected to fail due to Labour's outright majority.
