ANZ's chief economist Cameron Bagrie has offered some support this morning for the government's superannuation proposals, which will lift the age of entitlement to 67 over a three year period from 2037.

Bagrie told Mike Hosking to maintain the status quo, we'd have to make choices in regard to education, conservation, other core Government services, increasing tax rates or borrowing money.

But he says the message here is that we've made a small marginal tweak, flagging very clearly we need to do something over time.
