A group of unlikely volunteers have been inundated with requests for help during the Covid-19 lockdown.
NZ 4WDding Community Response was set up by a group of four-wheel drive enthusiasts to support people during the aftermath of the Christchurch earthquakes.
Group Operations Manager Callum Jones says they're back up and running -Â acting as delivery drivers for the click and collect supermarket orders of the elderly and disabled - who would otherwise have to wait far too long for an online order.
He told Tim Dower some online delivery services have been bursting at the seams due to demand.
"Click and Collect and the online ordering for deliveries were both swamped, some for seven days, some for up to two weeks."Â
