This week’s ASB Good as Gold Winner is Ethan Rangi.
Nominator Carolyn Pape writes: “Ethan has an intellectual disability but he hasn't let that stop him succeeding!
He is the 2015 North Harbour Local Sportsman of the year and holds at least two New Zealand track and Field records for Para-Athletics. If successful at his next event in Dubai, Ethan has a very good chance of being selected for the Rio Paralympic team.
Ethan couldn’t do this alone. His family is amazing. Despite two of their four children having special needs, they do all they can to support one another. But the expense of overseas competitions is starting to take a toll.
Mike and ASB – can you assist Ethan and his wonderful family? Any help would go towards keeping Ethan on the road to Rio and this means Medals for New Zealand!”
Our friends at ASB Bank would love to give Ethan $3,000 to help him achieve his Paralympic dream.
And that’s not all. Our friend Valerie Adams is very impressed with Ethan so we are going to send Ethan along to one of Val’s training sessions, where she will give him some special advice on how he can win Paralympic gold!
