Palmerston North is in bloom this summer, their award-winning botanical gardens a sight to see.Â
The New Zealand Gardens Trust has awarded the Victoria Esplanade a five star rating, one of few in the country.Â
It’s got entertainment for the whole family, with the miniature railway in the Rose Gardens, the Wild Base Centre, and a variety of playgrounds.Â
If you’re not a fan of the gardens, try the New Zealand Rugby Museum or Te Manawa, the regions museum, art gallery, and science centre. Â
Mayor Grant Smith told Tim Dower that the Rugby Museum has been running for fifty-odd years, and is a fantastic display of heritage right through to the current day.Â
