Another disaster for the Silver Ferns today on the Gold Coast, after going down to England this morning.

While a spot in the semis is likely, pending the outcome of final pool play today, the Ferns are on shaky ground, to say the least.

And if they do make it to the semis, it looks like a date with the Australian Diamonds is on the cards.

Silver Ferns assistant coach Yvette McCausland-Durie told Greg Boyed it is challenging times, but that the team remains optimistic.

She says that she does not think her job is on the line.

"It is a real reality in sport when things don't go well people look for change."
