Charlotte Bellis' lawyer argues she shouldn't have to reapply for MIQ. 

The pregnant Afghanistan-based Kiwi reporter has been unable to secure an MIQ spot. 

MIQ officials say she wasn't eligible for the dates she provided, but could apply to come in on the basis of serious risk to her safety. 

Lawyer Tudor Clee told Heather du Plessis-Allan it would be a lie to apply for a spot under those criteria. 

“There’s no reason for her to lie to the government when the basis of the application is that she is a pregnant New Zealand citizen, and, of course, that’s what the application is.”
