Simon Bridges is playing down his claim he was driving from Tauranga to Wellington because his internet at home only works half the time.
It's been revealed the National leader's home has fibre and ultra-fast broadband.
Today, Bridges says dodgy internet was just one reason for the long drive.
"I have come here to work on Covid-19. I have to be here asking the questions and getting the answers."
However, Bridges told Heather du Plessis-Allan that while it isn't a main reason, his internet connection is unreliable - despite the internet options available.Â
Bridges chairs the Covid Epidemic Response Committee at Parliament - which is held over Zoom.
Tomorrow, Bridges hopes to hear findings about the legality of the lockdown, after concerns were raised by legal experts about the powers Police actually have to enforce the rules.Â
