Adele’s latest album 30, came out today.
The album is about her journey through her divorce with Simon Konecki and also talks to her young son.
Music psychologist Sandra Garrido told Andrew Dickens there are a lot of good psychological benefits of listening to sad music.
“If you go through something like a breakup, it’s really important to process the emotions and reflect on what’s happened, and so that is something that people can often do. Listening to a piece of sad music like Adele is something that can kind of stimulate that.”
Garrido says it gives people a feeling of not being alone in their current situation.
