The majority of New Zealanders don't want to wait until 90% of Māori are vaccinated.

Horizon research found 59% of adults don't agree with restrictions to give Māori more time to get vax rates up, 32% do agree, and 9% are unsure.

Interestingly, Māori themselves think much the same. 54% don't agree with restrictions, 33% do, and 13% are not sure.

In Northland, just 21% agree on the need for restrictions.

Professor of Public Health at Auckland University, Chris Bullen, joined Heather du Plessis-Allan.

“People want to return to normal life, be able to move out of the Auckland region and they are prepared to take the risk.”
