The Mad Butcher says its been 'left in limbo' by mixed government messaging on essential services.

Up until Wednesday night the franchise chief executive says he was told they were an essential service, however butchers and bakeries were excluded later in the evening.

CEO Michael Morton says  the business has been  left with a significant amount of stock.

"We have been left with millions of dollars worth of stock. We deemed we were an essential service, and we were told that we were."
