The government has thrown struggling businesses a lifeline.
From next Monday, businesses that have lost 40 percent revenue can get up to 24-thousand dollars – made of one bulk payment, and a fortnightly 400 dollars for each full-time employee – over six weeks.
Auckland Business Chamber CEO, Michael Barnett told Heather du Plessis-Allan Government has listened and recognised the difficulties businesses are in.
“This is a signal that the government is, you know, the next six weeks is going to be tough for businesses that are likely to be under the most pressure, facing the biggest impact from absenteeism.”
