No vax, no job .... at the Ministry of Social Development. 

The agency's begun sacking up to 220 unvaccinated staff this week. 

It's despite the Public Service Commission advising public agencies to pause dismissals – after the High Court ruled vaccine mandates for police and defence force unlawful. 

Lynda, who has been a Ministry administration officer for nine years, got her termination letter today. 

She told Andrew Dickens she's medically vulnerable, and not front-facing. 

Lynda points out she now needs to apply to MSD for a benefit – and will be allowed in the building to claim it. 

“A lot of experience will be lost by the Ministry, and a lot of very skilled and very kind and empathetic people.”
