Tensions are escalating between New Zealand Rugby and the Players' Association over the proposed Silver Lake deal.
The national body's accused the country's leading players of demanding untenable payments at the expense of the community game.
Last week, the Players' Association presented revenue raising alternatives to the NZR board and 26 provincial unions, which includes debt servicing.
The New Zealand Herald has obtained NZR's response to the Players' Association - which attempts to debunk those alternatives, and reveals the extent of the major standoff facing the Silver Lake deal.
The parties are understood to be no closer to an agreement of the proposal to sell 12.5 percent of NZR's commercial rights for more than $387 million.
Herald rugby writer Liam Napier told Andrew Dickens the 26 provincial unions will vote on the deal tomorrow at the NZR AGM in Wellington, but the Players' Association have the final say.
"They have to sign off before that agreement is signed off, the Silver Lake Deal will be held off. So the Players' Association are basically in a kingmakers position."
The parties are understood to be no closer to an agreement of the proposal to sell 12.5 percent of NZR's commercial rights.
